I'm a New Jersey photographer, filmmaker, and founder. I like being hands-on with the work, building a team, and turning a useful idea into something people can use.
My creative work spans weddings, live events, and real estate. Alongside it, I've built a separate practice in legal videography and trial support.
I started professional photography and videography in 2015. Over time, that work grew into distinct brands, each with its own focus and way of working with clients.
2015
The professional chapter begins.
I started working professionally in videography and photography. Those two disciplines have stayed at the center of my creative work ever since.
2017
ApertureAlley finds its first home.
I formed ApertureAlley, and we opened our first office in Pine Brook, New Jersey, that same year. Weddings and live events became our main focus.
2018
A new perspective: real estate.
I began offering real estate photography services, bringing a different kind of subject and a new set of client needs into my creative practice.
2019
A small team becomes the foundation.
ApertureAlley has relied on a small team since 2019. Building the business has also meant building the relationships and shared approach that allow us to work together.
2024
ApertureAlley opens its Randolph studio.
ApertureAlley moved into an office and studio in Randolph, New Jersey. The space also became a resource other photographers can rent for their own sessions and productions.
I built HomeSnapp in 2024 to grow my real estate media services, building on the real estate photography work I started in 2018.
2026
A more personal photography practice.
I launched Erik Davidson Photography to work more directly with personal clients and place a greater emphasis on wedding photography. Video continues to be part of that work, while photography takes the lead.
I started my legal media career in 2017 by contracting with various companies. In 2023, I formed Legal Motion Solutions as a dedicated practice, separate from the wedding, event, and real estate side of my career.
2017
Starting my legal media career.
I started my legal media career by contracting with various companies, building experience in video depositions and trial presentation.
2018
Building a legal media team.
I started building a team of other legal media professionals, growing the people and experience behind this part of my work.
2020
More than 20 videographers.
By 2020, the team had grown to over 20 videographers, covering both in-person and remote assignments.
2023
Founding Legal Motion Solutions.
After six years of contracting and building experience across the legal media field, I formed Legal Motion Solutions as a dedicated home for this work.
2026
Founding Legal Video Academy.
I founded Legal Video Academy (LVA) to share legal videography knowledge and work toward creating public standards for videographers.
Video depositionsTrial presentation
Today, Legal Motion Solutions is the place to connect with me about deposition video and presenting exhibits and media at trial.
